The founder
Ryan Murphy
I learned to lead engineers the hard way, so you do not have to.
Nearly two decades in engineering. Half a decade leading teams at Yelp. Six courses on Dometrain, rated the number one career course creator on the platform. EM Accelerator is everything I learned, built into one place.
Why trust me with your first ninety days
Plenty of people have twenty years in engineering. Fewer have spent that time leading at scale and then a year building the thing they wish they had been handed.
In engineering. Half a decade leading teams at Yelp.
Following across LinkedIn, YouTube and the newsletter.
Career course creator on Dometrain. Six courses.
On the LeadDev programming committee. Speaker there and at CTO Craft.
The short version
Half a decade leading at Yelp
I led some of the largest groups of teams there, as part of nearly twenty years in tech. Not theory from the sidelines. I have done the job, at scale, under real pressure.
Six courses on Dometrain, rated number one
Dometrain is exclusive about who it lets author. Its creators are Microsoft MVPs and engineers with hundreds of thousands of followers. Across all of them, I am rated the number one career course creator on the platform.
Two years on the LeadDev committee
I help shape the program at one of the most respected engineering leadership conferences in the world, and I have spoken there and at CTO Craft.
80,000+ read my work every week
Nearly half a decade writing for engineers and managers across LinkedIn, YouTube and my newsletter.
Mentor to engineers at every level
From juniors finding their feet to leaders running large orgs. I know what each stage actually needs.
Why I built this
I became a manager the way most engineers do. One Friday I was writing code. The next Monday I was responsible for people's careers, their pay, whether they stayed or left. Nobody trained me for it, so I learned by making expensive mistakes.
So I got a little obsessed with the craft of leading engineers. I read everything, stole what worked from the best leaders I could find, and spent a year turning it into the thing I wish someone had handed me on that Monday morning.
That is EM Accelerator. Not theory. The actual playbook, from someone still doing the work. I would love to have you in it.
The program I wish had existed when I made the jump.
Ninety days, twelve weeks, two 1-1s and a plan for your actual team.
